Last two shows…

March
16

I can’t believe it’s over.  It’s so weird to be here at school and not have rehearsal to go.  The experience was worth all of the time, though—we put on such an amazing show, and I think it’s fair to say that we all bonded with each other too.

The last two shows were both phenomenal, [...]

Opening night!!!!!

March
14

We had a crazy opening night!!!!  Two things:  1)  We sold out the performance, which has neverhappened at Hen Hud before!!!  2)  We had a blackout in the middle of the show.

I can’t believe we sold out the performance!!!!!!  They had to actually turn people away at the door because we were so full—that’s never [...]

Senior citizen performance…

March
13

The performance last night went really well.  Besides the fact that our audience was really small and there was some weird stage stuff going on, the show was really good.

Everything went sowell.  There were some small things going on (Scarecrow’s arm got tossed into the orchestra and our drummer had to throw it back to [...]

First performance tonight!!!

March
12

We’re performing for the senior citizens tonight—so it’s not even a “dress rehearsal” now; it’s a legitimate performance.  Honestly?  I’m kind of nervous.  Well, I’m not nervous for my role or anything, but our tech is so non-existent that I’m nervous that something technical is really going to mess things up.  UGH.

We did a full [...]

Time’s running out…

March
11

Monday and Tuesday of Hell Week have been, well… hellish.  Everyone was costumed, almost everyone was in makeup, and we finally rehearsed with a full band.  Sets are still being made, costumes are still being changed, and we’re still working on dance routines and certain scenes.  We ran the show once-through on Monday, then re-did [...]

Hell Week has begun…

March
7

Today’s rehearsal was really, really long, but we actually got a lot done.  I was honestly surprised we were able to run through the show one and a half times—I didn’t think we’d even finish it once completely.

However, there are some serious problems.  Well, one serious problem, actually:  tech.  We don’t have anything.  We have [...]

ONE WEEK!!!!!!! AHHHH!!!!!!!!

March

ONE WEEK.  Actually, not even—we’re doing a full performance for senior citizens next Thursday night, so… LESS THAN ONE WEEK!!!!!!!!!  AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week has been really intense rehearsal-wise.  Yesterday alone was a six-hour rehearsal, and tomorrow is rehearsal pretty much all day.  So here’s the run-down on what’s been going on with the show::

Dance routines/musical numbers:  [...]

Two weeks…

March
1

I’m still coming to terms with the fact that the show is less than two weeks away.  Opening night is in twelve days…  Where has all the time gone!?

We ran the Professor Marvel/Dorothy scene and a few Act II scenes at Thursday night’s rehearsal.  I love the scene between myself and the Winkies—we had only run [...]

Dance routines…

February
25

The dance routines are finally starting to come together, and I’m really surprised at how good they look now.  We did more of the Jitterbug today, and Claire finished teaching it to us, and it’s going to be so amazing when it’s completely polished.  Her choreography is fantastic, and as one of the more intense [...]
